When the Stream Runs Dry: Trusting God for the Next Step
"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." — Matthew 6:33
There are seasons when the place of provision that once sustained you runs dry. Plans change, resources diminish, doors close, and familiar comforts disappear. Yet God never allows a brook to dry up without already preparing the next place of provision.
Just as He led Elijah from the drying brook to a widow in Zarephath, God invites us to trust Him beyond what we can see. Our responsibility is not to map out every step ahead, but to seek His Kingdom first, remain faithful where we are, and follow His leading. What seems like an ending may simply be God's way of guiding us into a new season of grace and purpose.
When your season of supply seems to dry up, do not fear. Lift your eyes to the One who already knows the next step. Seek His Kingdom, trust Him, and walk forward in faith.
May the Lord go before you today and throughout this weekend. May He replace uncertainty with peace, anxiety with confidence, and weariness with renewed strength. May He open doors of provision, grant wisdom for every decision, and surround you and your loved ones with His protection and favour. May your heart remain steadfast, knowing that the God who sustained you yesterday is already preparing your tomorrow. Have a blessed Friday and a peaceful, joy-filled weekend. Shalom
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for being my Provider and Guide. When familiar streams run dry, help me not to panic or lose heart. Teach me to seek Your Kingdom above all else and to trust that You have already prepared what I need for tomorrow. Lead me in Your ways and strengthen my faith to follow You wherever You call me. In Jesus' name, Amen!
